Job Description:

WORK LOCATION: San Luis Obispo, CA

This is a fall 2024 co-op, beginning in June/July, ending in December.

Core Purpose:
This Co-Op position is an electrical engineering role aimed at leveraging the fresh perspectives and skills of emerging talent to develop enhancements in our processes and technology. Recognizing our current resource limitations, this role is essential for spearheading innovative solutions that we are presently unable to address in-house. Additionally, by establishing this position, we aim to cultivate a healthy and secure relationship with the local university, known for producing some of the top engineering talents. This collaboration not only enriches our team with cutting-edge ideas but also strengthens our ties with an academic institution that can be a continual source of skilled engineers, fostering a symbiotic relationship that benefits both parties.

In this role, you will:
* Develop a test cart for validating our electrical cabinet builds, both in-house and outsourced, is crucial for enhancing our quality control processes.
* Facilitate the adoption of Standard Test Procedures (STP), ensuring a consistent and automated approach to testing.
* Improve the accuracy and reliability of our electrical cabinets, reducing the likelihood of errors and defects.
* Set a new standard in our operational practices.

You're a good fit if you have:
* Technical Proficiency: Strong background in electrical engineering, with the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical applications, including the design and implementation of automated testing procedures.
* Innovative Thinking: Creativity in problem-solving and the ability to devise novel solutions for enhancing process efficiency and technology.
* Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in testing and validation processes to ensure all electrical cabinets meet stringent quality standards without exception.
* Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work effectively in team settings, including collaborating with peers, mentors, and university partners, to leverage collective expertise for project success.
* Adaptability: Flexibility to navigate the dynamic nature of technological development projects, including the willingness to learn and apply new methods or technologies as they emerge.
* Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, essential for documenting test procedures, sharing findings with the team, and contributing to the educational goals of the Co-Op program.

Desired Majors:
Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering, graduating in 2025 or 2026
