RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for preparing the opening journal entry workbook for acquisitions and communicating to property and fund accounting teams the specific terms of the transaction and items that will impact the ongoing accounting for the acquired properties

  • Responsible to coordinate with third party appraisers for determination of purchase price allocation and review of completed models.

  • Prior to an acquisition, individual would be responsible for obtaining and review of diligence items to ensure appropriate onboarding of properties and to support other accounting functions

  • Responsible for preparation of sales proration files used for sale of properties and coordinating with other teams and departments to obtain all approvals

  • Prepare the disposition journal entries

  • Coordinate with prior owners on acquisitions and purchasers on dispositions to finalize any true-up adjustments to closing and final tenant reconciliations

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors of Science in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university

  • 0-3 years of accounting experience, with commercial real estate accounting experience preferred

  • Strong analytical and accounting skills

  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • High degree of integrity

  • Proven ability to expand areas of knowledge and learn new skills as circumstances require

  • Solid problem solving, time management, and organizational skills
