Field Airborne Support Team Lead A&P (Remote Opportunity)in GAC Westfield

$5,000 sign on bonus eligible


Unique Skills:

Must be available on an on-call basis, with the ability to be on site or dispatched within two hours of the initial contact from Gulfstream.

Recruiting in the Northeast region Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Ohio, and West Virginia.


Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. 8 years aviation maintenance experience with advanced knowledge of inspection and heavy maintenance of mid/large-size aircraft. Adv working knowledge of pertinent tech reference matls. A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required. Other Ability to obtain Passport required. Valid Driver's License required.

Position Purpose:

Plan and coordinate all mechanical system activities and provide daily info on acft testing status and schedule impacts. Directly communicate with customer on acft status and financial needs. Duties include advanced troubleshooting, removal and installations of airframes, landing gear, engine components, electrical components, control systems and any other maintenance requirements to assure conformance to procedures, performances, and test specifications on customer live in-service acft. Coordinate manpower requirements in support of all maintenance tasks, systems testing, discrepancy resolution, aircraft protection and flight tests.
Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Lead AOG maintenance activity and necessary servicing of all acft mechanical and avionics systems. Able to communicate clearly and professionally with acft owner when needed. Ensure GAC Techs are keen on customer interactions and represent GAC in a professional manner .
  2. Ensure timely completion and coordination of maintenance projects with the STM in compliance with FAA specs for the Repair Station. Coordinate with other depts to arrange for the overhaul or repair of customer property as needed. Coordinates mechanical, electrical and inspection requirements on the acft during maintenance in the field. Follow SOPs and JSAs when operating ground support equipment. Operate A/C and supervise use of special support equipment used in removal and installations of major components .
  3. Independently perform a variety of acft mods and maintenance functions to assure conformance to procedures, performances, test specifications, repair station certs and FAR's .
  4. Maintain a current knowledge of Acft Service Changes (ASCs), Customers Bulletins (CBs), inspection schedule requirements, vendor information and all other procedures, publications and general knowledge pertaining to GAC acft maintenance and servicing .
  5. Assist the FAST team in planning, coordinating and supervising the activities performed in the field. Provide direction to customers and GAC personnel involved in accomplishing acft maintenance repairs in a timely and efficient manner while satisfying customer requirements and FAA regs .
  6. Assist in training new FAST Techs with work orders and doc requirements in accordance with the repair station QC Manual. Provide work direction for technicians in the efficient and effective use of company resources, work methods and procedures in order to meet acft schedules and deadlines .
  7. Function as an Airworth Inspect that physically inspects acft, acft components, and reviews paperwork to ensure that workmanship meets acceptable stds of quality and specs, and that customer acft are returned to service in an airworthy condition with all required. docs properly completed and filed .
  8. Continually monitor repair station compliance with FAR Part 145 and the FAA accepted site Repair Station Certs and QC Manual .

Additional Functions:
  1. Uses the material tracking system to create parts demand, monitor core returns, and to charge labor to correct work orders and item numbers .
  2. Help develop goals for subordinates and support the company OGSM at the technician level .
  3. Establishes and maintains a professional working relationship with the customer and provides one-on-one direct familiarization briefings with the customer during the road trip .
